Ups and Downs

Sorry, my vacation took a lot out of me (and put some back on me) I came back from the Harry Potter world at 333. So I just adjusted from there since my goal was so new anyway.  My new goal for the next week was to be 331, then, but when I weighed myself, I was back down to 325! So yay, a minor setback, but it has been rectified! Too much butterbeer, probably!

I have also started cold-calling resumes which were pre-screened for me by my Regional Vice President.  That should help me get better at saying the words that don't come so naturally to me otherwise and eventually I'll be able to do it in person, haha!

That's all for now! Thanks for staying with me!

Just a quick note tonight. I didn't do so well this week so far, I  am using my foot as an excuse and I really shouldn't (I broke my pinky toe a few weeks ago and it's still healing,  I am gong to Florida for the rest of the week, though, so there will be a lot of walking at least, despite the probably awful eating, haha.

Wish me luck!

Off to Hogsmeade!!!

My Goals for the Year

Hi, I'm Kathy and I have two major goals this year: to lose 100lbs and to grow my business to the point that I can do it full time.

First: In case you are wondering, the name of the blog is because my starting weight (as of yesterday) is 325.  The goal is to lose 2 pounds a week and by next year, I will be 100 pounds lighter. I know it will be a lot of work, but I'm willing to put it in. Also, when broken down, two pounds a week is totally doable (right?!?)   And now, current pictures (my only recent non-selfies are from Christmas, sorry)

Second:  I work as an independent contractor for a financial company called Primerica. I want to be able to work at it full time. In order to do that, I need clients, which means I need to talk to people. A lot of people.  I'm  not so good at this and the biggest hurdle to my success.

Okay, now that you know my goals, how am I going to achieve them?

The weight loss is a bit more structured than the business goal at the moment. I'm using a combination of 3 different apps, and it's on my goal board (also known as my front door-I have a tiny apartment!) I'm using Pact which forces me to commit to certain goals per week or I am charged money which is a big motivator! When I meet the goals, I also make a little money, it isn't much, but I just got my first $10 in my bank this morning! You can't withdraw money until you reach $10 and I'm averaging about $1/week right now.  The second app is My Fitness Pal which is a food and exercise log. I'm not really logging exercise other than the steps it automatically logs from my phone at the moment as most cardio adds steps and the weight training I have been doing doesn't calculate calories on the app.  The third app is called Rally.  I'm pretty excited about this one as I recently found out that as I do certain things, it will send money to my Health Savings Account. There are many "missions" to sign up for related to all aspects of health. I am signed up for 12 missions that each need me to complete 2-3 items per week on average.  For example one mission is write in a journal 3 times a week. One down right now!  I also have a calendar on my goals board and will be writing down my weight once a week. I'll probably move it to Monday even though I weighed myself yesterday. I have my two pound goal written on next Tuesday's square as a reminder. I think that's about it for now.

The business goals are a little murkier as I don't have a complete set of numbers for what I will need to go full time.  I would like to earn at least 30,000 in order to go full time. This is a little less than I currently earn, so when I get to that number, I think I can safely say I can keep going.  Immediate goals for this, however are to finish getting my securities license and to hire one more person for my team. If I hire one more person, I will be promoted to the next commission level which can only help achieve my income goal.  How I plan to go about this is talking to people.  I have been working on talking to strangers at stores, I haven't been very good at getting to the business part yet, but getting more comfortable talking to people is the first step. I'll keep you posted on how that goes!

I think that's it for the general overview. I will plan to write at least 3 times per week in this blog, possibly more if something interesting happens, but we'll see!

Thanks for coming with me on my journey!
